Goldenseal Workshop: Cultivation, Restoration, & Stewardship
Join us in learning how to become the human hands for goldenseal and help restore a beloved medicinal to its native habitat. In this workshop, we’ll focus on hands-on interactive relationality with goldenseal, as well as diving into lore, regional history and medicinal benefits. We’ll walk through the forest scoping out appropriate site selection for planting, prepare and plant a cultivation plot! We will go over rhizomal propagation techniques (division, size, etc) and a host of other considerations and details when cultivating your own goldenseal in this bioregion.
October 17th from 11-4pm at Yarb Land
Cost: $40 - $60 sliding scale; select price option
Yarb Land is located in West Fork, AR about 25min from downtown Fayetteville. You will receive directions when you reserve your spot. We will provide herbal tea and a light snack.
Meet the Facilitator:
Wren Haffner has been forest cultivating goldenseal for 9 years at Mountain Jewel Land Project in the Ozarks where she also tends food forests, builds naturally with earthen materials and breeds locally adapted vegetable varieties. Check out more at ozarkmountainjewel.com
