the Heart of Yarb

Hawthorn has been an integral part of the creation of Yarb, holding us through the healing process of losing our father; Our guide showing us how to perceive and create through our hearts. The original inspiration for our signature elixir - Threshold. Our devotion to Hawthorn is embodied through many forms including most recently a book.

Accepting submissions for the book :

A collection of
stories and poems
about loss,
synchronicities
& connection

Do you have a story or poem to share?

Overall book theme :

1.   How have your loved ones, ancestors, and others who have passed away communicated with you since leaving their physical bodies? Is it through dreams, birds, lights, smells, landscapes, books, strangers, etc.?

2.  Have you been close to someone who was aware their life was coming to an end?
What were some impactful moments during this process?

3.  Have you witnessed someone in the liminal space -- “the threshold”--the time period leading up to their transition and what are your
stories?

4. Overall significant moments within your grief process.

These can be your personal stories or stories you have heard from family members and friends. We are open to other writings being submitted even if they don’t perfectly fit into these themes ; like the loss of an animal, near death experience, collective grief etc. Reach out to me if you have any questions about this.

You do not need to be an “author or poet” to submit a writing.

Perfection is NOT needed here.
We welcome the mess, after all it is stories of grief.

My name is Sara and I will be the one you will be talking with for the Hawthorn Book along with my dear friend Caden, the editor. This idea has been stirring for a long time after hearing many touching stories, moving through my personal grief and connecting deeply with Hawthorn. I would love to bring this book to life, and I am honored to anyone who would like to be involved. This is a collective creation and not a book for profit but to simply share our experiences of grief through written expression. If you have a writing to share, overall curious or have questions, please fill out the form and I will send you more information.
